Volkswagen unveils teaser of much awaited SUV Taigun

Volkswagen finally unveiled its first SUV under the 2.0 project that the company had proposed a few months ago. Under this program, several SUVs would be launched and Taigun is the first of them. The massive and supremely bold VW’s Taigun was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 and finally, the teaser is out. It is a global debut for the Taigun and the official line from the company is that the car will not arrive in the market as a production model until the middle of 2021.

Volkswagen Taigun 2021 teaser

The first look of Volkswagen Taigun reveals the amazing features and looks which will surely prove to be a strong opponent to its other existing competitors. The launch of Taigun is an important aspect for Volkswagen considering the competition in the SUV area. Taigun though is an Indian-specific model, it’s heavily based on the T cross which is a global model.

Exteriors of Volkswagen Taigun:

Taigun has been sharply styled having lots of cuts and creases across the body thus providing an enriched and classy look to the SUV. There can be seen a lot of play with light and shadow all over the model.

The tires sitting flush with the body also look amazingly nice. The front portion is rather beefy which has got the LED DRL’s. The bottom chrome highlights for the grille right in front and it has got a large flat bonnet at the front making the visibility look great. There is graphic work present around the boot to highlight the exterior design of the Taigun. The tail-lights are extraordinarily impressive with the continuous LED that runs right across the boot.

Interiors of Taigun

The interior of Taigun looks superbly crafted displaying rich quality all across. There are loads of colored accents that really jazz up the car. To add more highlights, there is a digital dial carrying a large touch screen and the central console is seen to have enough storage space. A bin is also seen for storage purposes though offering in a small size.

Space for the phone underneath the gear and door pockets are impressively large. Among the multilayered dashboard, a large glove-box is seen carrying a huge infotainment system and allotting space for the CD and SD cards.

Engine and Gearbox of Taigun:

Against its competitors Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, Volkswagen’s Taigun comes up with the option of two engines: 1.0 litre petrol turbo-charged with 115 BHP and the next is the 1.5 TSI engine Turbo-charged engine with 130 BHP. Taigun has a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox which delivers the power to the front wheels thus offering a massive speed. The speed is rapidly amazing with reaching 100 km/hour in a jift of 9.9 seconds. Volkswagen compensates for the absence of the diesel version with the factory fit CNG option.

The pricing of Taigun will be set in a way that offers a strong competition with its opponents on par with the striking features of Taigun. So the estimated price will lie around the range of 9.5 lakhs to 13 lakhs.

So considering these outstanding features of Taigun, let’s hope the production model carries the same outlook too.
