Volkswagen has unveiled the new crossover model in its SUV range of small vehicles segment. The company has named the new addition as Taigo and has revealed the car’s sketches before its official premiere in Europe.

The Volkswagen Taigo features aggression on its face and has a coupe-like style similar to Volkswagen Nivus, launched in Brazil. Nevertheless, the model has a sporty appearance.

Volkswagen will manufacture Taigo in Pamplona, Spain and will mostly target the European market. The model will feature economical TSI engines, LED headlights along with a modern operating concept and a fully digital cockpit. As per the company, Taigo will feature many assistance systems and state-of-the-art connectivity and will be based on Nivus.

The Nivus Coupe SUV is positioned between Polo and T-Cross in Brazil and uses the MQB A0 platform of the company. The car comes with a bold grille in the front along with restyled LED headlamps, integrated DRLs and new vertically-stacked fog lamps.

The blacked-out grille and bumper give a rugged look to the visual appearance of the model. The LED taillights’ surroundings have an impressive glossy black finish, giving a sporty look to the SUV. The model has a length of 4,266mm, a width of 1,757mm and a height of 1,493mm dimension-wise. It is equipped with 17-inch wheels with a wheelbase that stands at 2,566mm.
