German carmaker Volkswagen has launched the first Anniversary Edition of the Taigun in the Indian market. It is priced between Rs. 15.40 lakh to 16.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India). VW has accumulated over 40,000 bookings of the SUV and has delivered 22,000 units so far since its launch.
The special Anniversary Edition features only cosmetic changes and it is based on the top variant. VW has priced the anniversary kit at Rs. 29,999/-. It is available in three collour optiions namely – new Rising Blue along with Curcuma Yellow and Wild Cherry Red.
Apart from this the other visual highlights of the 1st Anniversary Edition include badging on the exterior and interior, high lux fog lamps, body-coloured door garnish, black C-pillar graphics, black roof foil, door-edge protector, black ORVM caps, window visors and aluminum pedals.
The Taigun Anniversary Edition sees no mechical changes under the hood. It is powered by the same 1.0 litre TSI petrol motor mated to a 6-speed MT and torque convertor automatic transmission.
