Leading German auto manufacturer Volkswagen has a number of new cars up its sleeve this year as a part of its India 2.0 Program. Covering important categories such as compact sedan, mid-sized SUV, and compact SUV, Indian customers can expect to witness the further evolution of brand Volkswagen. Upcoming Volkswagen Cars in India
Expected Launch – 15 April, 2021
At the Auto Expo 2020 in New Delhi, Volkswagen presented a mid-sized SUV for the thriving Indian car market, the Taigun. It is based on the MQB A0 IN platform, where IN stands for India. The Taigun’s has a wheelbase of 4.2 meters and looks more rugged than the European T-Cross.
The VW Taigun will be powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 115 bhp of max power. This engine is mated to a seven-speed DSG producing 200 Nm peak torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG automatic.
Expected Launch Date – September 15, 2021
Expected to arrive in the Indian market during the second half of 2021, the 2021 VW Vento is exected to have important features in common with the Russia-spec Polo sedan. Offered at a price tag ranging between Rs 9 lakh and Rs 13 lakh, the India-spec Vento will sport a 1-liter BS-6 compliant turbo-petrol engine. A CNG version of this model is planned as well.
VW Vento will go neck to neck against competitors in the present and the future. Whether against the new Skoda and Hyundai offerings, or against present contenders like the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Toyota Yaris, or the impeccable Hyundai Verna facelift – the Vento will have an array of features to give the rest a run for their money. An 8-inch touch-screen infotainment system with Andriod Auto/Apple Car Play, digital instrument cluster, new-steering wheel, LED lamps and much more are expected on the 2021 Volkswagen Vento.
Volkswagen Compact SUV
Under its India 2.0 program, Volkswagen envisages a brand-new compact SUV. This model will incorporate all advantages of the MQB-A0 IN platform. Whether this would be easy on prospective wallets, will have a say when it will hit the showrooms. Other Vehicles From VW
A makeover/facelift is anticipated for all existing VW cars like Polo, Vento, T-ROC and Tiguan AllSpace on Indian roads. We would like to see the Polo get thoroughly refurbished. All in all, great expectations from VW in 2021!
