Indian auto manufacturer Tata Motors has launched a new variant of its popular Tiago hatchback. The new variant is called the XZ+ and it gets a host of additional features.
The Tiago XZ+ gets two new paint shades – Ocean Blue and Canyon Orange. It gets a dual tone exterior option which includes a gloss black roof and rear spoiler. It gets the same 15-inch alloy wheels present on the petrol variant of the Tigor. Apart from this the XZ+ gets body side moldings, chrome bits on the tailgate and projector headlights from the Tigor.
Inside the cabin the XZ+ gets new equipment like a 7-inch Harman touchscreen system with Android Auto, power folding wing mirrors and automatic climate control. There are no mechanical changes whatsoever. It uses the same 1.2 petrol motor and 1.0-liter oil burner. The petrol motor develops 85 PS of power and 114 Nm of torque while the diesel motor pumps out 70 PS of power and 140 Nm of twisting force mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Prices for the Tiago XZ+ petrol variant start from INR 5.57 lakhs for the single shade variant while the dual tone variant is priced at INR 5.64 lakhs. The Diesel XZ+ is tagged at INR 6.31 lakhs for the single shade variant and INR 6.38 lakhs for the dual tone shade.
With the added equipment the Tiago XZ+ is now better equipped to take on its rivals likes the newly launched Santro which comes equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system.
