Tata Tiago JTP & Tigor JTP revealed before launch

Here are the official pictures of the Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP. Tata Motors will officially launch the cars in India on October 26th, 2018. Both the cars are performance-oriented versions of the Tiago hatchback and Tigor compact sedan.

The exteriors and interiors of both the cars have been spruced up to give them a sporty look. Changes on the outside on the Tigor JTP and Tiago JTP include new alloy wheels, vented bonnets, bootlid spoiler & hatchlid spoiler, contrast colour for wing mirror housing, new bumpers and twin exhaust tips. Interiors feature an all-black cabin with contrasting red bits, new seat fabric, leather wrapped steering wheel, aluminum pedals etc. Both the cars also get an infotainment system with voice commands and navigation assist.

The talking point is the performance of the cars. Under the hood is a 1.2 litre turbocharged REVOTRON motor which also does duty in the Nexon. The engine has been tweaked to produce more power. In the Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP the engine churns out 114 PS of power and 150 Nm of torque. All this power is channelized through a 5-speed manual gearbox. Tata Motors claims a 0-100 Kmph in 10 seconds for both the cars.

To handle all this power the Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP get a stiffer suspension setup to aid in better handling. The ground clearance has been reduced by 14 mm in the Tiago and 4 mm in the Tigor along with a reduced ride height, and wider 185 mm, 15-inch tires. On the safety front ABS+EBD and twin airbags come as standard equipment on both the cars.

The performance models of the Tiago and Tigor are a result of a 50:50 joint venture between Tata Motors and Coimbatore based Jayem Engineering.
