With rising fuel prices in India customers are looking for more fuel efficient options to cater to their needs. CNG models have been in demand of late in metro cities and the government is also giving the required push needed for CNG fuel. According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), in India there are 3,500 CNG filling stations across 293 cities as of now as compared to 1,300 stations in 143 cities in 2019. Now this is likely to further expand to 6,000 stations by 2025 and reach 10,000 stations by 2030.

In terms of powertrain options, we do not expect to see any changes. The models come powered by a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine tuned to belt out 85 bhp and 113 Nm of peak torque. That said, we can expect a slight drop in power figures given the CNG conversion. Transmission duties are likely to be carried out by a five-speed manual gearbox as standard.

Coming to the engines, we do not expect Tata to make any changes on this front. The CNG models will be powered by a 1.2 litre Revotron petrol motor producing 85 bhp and 113 Nm of peak torque. This engine will come mated to a 5-speed transmission as standard. There could be a slight dip in power figures due to the CNG conversion.
