Tata Harrier Dark Edition launched to fight off the competition!!! Can it help Tata sell more units of the Harrier?
The Indian SUV scene is buzzing with activity these days. From the launch of MG Hector to the Kia Seltos every auto manufacturer is vying for a share in the Indian SUV market. To keep the competition in check Tata Motors has launched the Tata Harrier Dark Edition at Rs. 16.76 lakhs (Ex-showroom).
According to the press release from Tata, there are 14 design enhancements but none related to mechanicals nor there are any feature additions. Priced at INR 16.76 lakhs the Tata Harrier Dark Edition comes in the top of the line XZ trim. It is priced same as the Dual-Tone Harrier and is priced INR 20,000 more than the regular model.
The Dark Edition of the Harrier is adorned with 17-inch Blackstone alloy wheels, new Atlas black body colour, black treatment on outside rearview mirrors, rear spoiler and door handles too. The interiors also get the Blackstone theme right from the carpet to the dashboard & black leather seats. The wood inserts on the dashboard get gunmetal grey finish.
Though the Harrier is a great product from the stable of Tata, it sold just 740 units of the SUV last month. The company recently announced that the SUV is also available with an electric sunroof as an accessory for INR 95,100. Tata Motors should work on launching a higher variant with all the bells and whistles which are available in newly launched cars like the MG Hector and Kia Seltos to boost sales.
