Tata Harrier bookings opened

Tata Motors next big launch in the Indian market is the Harrier SUV. Based on the Land Rover platform the SUV set pulses racing when it was first revealed during the 2018 Auto Expo.

Tata Motors has opened bookings for the Harrier SUV and prospective customers can now book the SUV for an amount of Rs. 30,000 via authorized dealerships. Buyers will have to register their phone number and email address. An OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number. Registration and booking will be completed once the payment has been made. Booking details will be sent to the registered email address.

The highly anticipated Harrier SUV is set to launch in early 2019. It is based on the Discovery Sport and borrows many bits like the floor pan, suspension, steering gear etc. from the Discovery Sport. Design wise it follows Tata`s 2.0 design language and looks quite stunning in flesh.

The Harrier will get class leading creature comforts as well as safety features which include steering mounted controls, automatic climate control, front parking sensors, 6 airbags, reversing camera, touch screen infotainment system and electrically operated wing mirrors to name a few.

Kyrotec diesel engine

Under the hood, the Harrier will be powered by a 2.0 litre Kryotec diesel engine. The engine is derived from Fiat`s 2.0 MultiJet engine which also powers the Jeep Compass. On paper the engine is tuned to deliver 140 PS and 350 Nm of torque mated to 6 speed manual or automatic transmission. The SUV will be available with 2WD as well 4WD options. 

It will be launched in early 2019 and will rival the likes of the Jeep Compass, Hyundai Creta and the Mahindra XUV500. Prices are expected to be in the Rs 13 – 16 lakh range.
