Suzuki India has launched the V-Strom SX at a starting price of Rs. 2.11 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). This is the Japanese brand’s entry into India’s quarter-litre adventure sports market.
In front, there’s an led headlamp, as well as a long beak and a screen for the fly, and a stylish fender. The beak connects to the panel, which extends all the way to the fuel tank, and the bike is fitted with sleek panels and split seats in the back which is further enhanced by the tail light that is LED and a long mudguard.
It is referred to as the ‘Master of all Adventures’ by its maker The V-Strom SX’s design is influenced by the larger adventure motorcycles from Suzuki’s line-up of global models which is a good thing.
Handguards, rear carrier rack, dual-purpose tyres, and high ground clearance make this V-Strom SX the adventure sports bike that it is designed to be. It also comes with numerous features, including the Suzuki Easy Start System, USB outlet, as well as Suzuki Ride Connect.
The latter, which operates with the Bluetooth-enabled digital dash, includes features like turn-by-turn navigation, incoming calls missed call SMS alert, WhatsApp Alert, speed exceeding warning, battery level display, and estimated arrival time.
With a good amount of ground clearance, the quarter-liter bike features an adjustable front suspension that is telescopic and a mono-shock rear suspension. It comes with an 18-inch front wheel laced with a tyre of 100/90-section and a 17-inch rear wheel with 140/70-section rubber. Stopping power is provided by discs at the front and rear.
Powering the Suzuki V-Strom SX is an oil-cooled 249cc engine that produces a maximum of 26.5 PS @ 9300 RPM, and 22.2 Nm of maximum torque at 7300 RPM. The single-cylinder motor is linked with a 6-speed gearbox.
It’s the same engine that powers the Gixxer 250. Gixxer 250 should be enough to power the V-Strom SX that weighs 167 kg (11 kilograms more than its naked counterpart).
