Skoda India has launched a 6-year warranty package for all its cars on sale in the country. This step is part of the VW Group’s India 2.0 plans, according to which the automotive group is looking to enhance its customer satisfaction levels in the country. All models in Skoda’s India lineup, including the Rapid, Octavia, Superb and Kodiaq can be opted with the Skoda Shield Plus pack which will extend their associated warranty to 6 years, or 1.5 lakh kilometers, whichever is earlier. It is worth noting that all the said models already come with a 4-year standard warranty.
In addition to the extended warranty horizon, the Skoda Shield Plus package also includes 24×7 roadside assistance (RSA), a comprehensive motor insurance for 1 year, and a third party insurance for 3 years. If you are a customer who already owns any Skoda car in India that is under the standard 4-year warranty timeline, you too can extend the warranty by two years through the Skoda Shield Plus pack.
The road side assistance package can be a huge relief to people who often take their cars on long highway journeys. It assists customers in case of an unfortunate vehicle breakdown, mechanical or electric failure, flat tyre, lost keys or accident. This, along with the extended warranty, can go a long way in making sure Skoda’s image of being an expensive brand to own is diluted in the country.
The Czech automaker has been focusing heavily on the Indian market for the past couple of years. Recently, the automaker re-introduced the Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo edition, and is also simultaneously working on bringing a production version of the Skoda Vision X Concept in the Indian market. The company has already revealed this SUV internationally, where it is christened as the Kamiq and is placed a slot lower than the Skoda Karoq in the company’s SUV lineup.
