The all-new ŠKODA KUSHAQ is the first of a new generation of vehicles built on the MQB-A0-IN architecture, built around the challenging demands of the Indian customer, as part of the INDIA 2.0 project headed by ŠKODA AUTO. The all-new ŠKODA KUSHAQ is made for the world in India and boasts traditional ŠKODA AUTO characteristics of design, quality, interior spaciousness, equipment, dynamics, efficiency, security and comfort.
Skoda India has now revealed a prototype of the yet to be launched Kushaq. The camouflaged prototype images reveal the sharp design language of the Kushaq, although the styling has not been entirely revealed. It comes with a huge butterfly signature grille, sleek LED headlights and a clamshell type bonnet.
Along with a strong shoulder line and high roof rails, the side profile reveals new sporty looking black wheels. It has a 2651 mm wheelbase. Although the top angle shot shows nothing on the roof, it is expected that Skoda will offer a panoramic sunroof. The tailgate also looks sharp and tail lamps get LED units.
The mid-size SUV from Skoda offers a generous amount of interior space for passengers and luggage with a wheelbase of 2,651 mm, while performance is guaranteed with the option of two powerful yet efficient TSI engines. Skoda has confirmed the world premiere of the Kushaq in March 2021.
Let’s talk about what’s under the hood. Skoda has announced that two engine choices will be offered for the Kushaq. The entry level motor is the 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol unit that is likely to provide torque of 110 PS and 175 Nm. A 1.5-litre TSI turbo petrol is the other one. This is the same unit available in the Karoq which produces 150 PS and 250 Nm of torque.
Skoda will be offering 3 transmission options: 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic torque converter, and a 7-speed DSG. The 1.0-litre TSI variant is likely to be offered with the torque converter gearbox.
MyŠKODA Connect, a powerful suite of communication features that improves the driving experience as well as protection along with vehicle usage diagnosis, will be offered with the all-new ŠKODA KUSHAQ.
The KUSHAQ offers active and passive safety kits. You get up to six airbags, optional front side airbags and curtain airbags for the driver and front passenger, while ESC guarantees improved driving safety and comes as standard on all trim levels. Both protection and comfort are enhanced by HillHold Control, rain and light sensors and a cruise control system. The car will come with a tyre pressure monitor, depending on the trim level, to keep an eye on the air pressure.
