Renault Kiger Production Version to be Unveiled on January 28, 2021

In November 2020, the Renault Kiger was unveiled in its concept form and now the French carmaker has confirmed the date for the production version to be revealed. It will make its official debut on January 28, 2021.

We have seen numerous camouflaged test mules of the Kiger and the large C-shaped LED tail light cluster is what stands out. Although the front looks sharp, you can be reminded of the Kwid to some degree from the side and rear profile.

A layered dashboard, a floating touchscreen infotainment system, steering controls, an all-digital instrument cluster, etc., is what you can expect on the inside. As seen in some spy shots, the interiors are likely to be all-black.

Renault Kiger Concept Car Side

It’s based on the CMFA+ platform of the Renault-Nissan alliance. The compact SUV will share most of the mechanical parts with the Nissan Magnite and we think it’s going to be priced aggressively like the Nissan Magnite.

It will be offered with the same engine options- 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo and naturally aspirated petrol engines. The turbo version will come mated to an automatic and manual transmission while the naturally aspirated motor will be offered with a manual and AMT gearbox.

The company has reported in the past that, with the support of the upcoming Kiger SUV, it aims to achieve a million sales target in India. Renault currently has over 6.5 lakh customers in the country. In the Indian market, the company currently offers models like the Kwid, Triber and Duster.

Once launched it will rival the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Ford Ecosport, and the Tata Nexon.

Renault Kiger Production Version

  • The production spec Renault Kiger will be unveiled on January 28, 2021.
  • It will be powered by naturally aspirated and turbo-charged petrol engines.
  • It will directly compete with the likes of Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue and Maruti Vitara Brezza.
