French Carmaker Renault has given the Captur an update. It gets cosmetic changes, new features and a set of new engines.

The Renault Captur have been given a facelift in Russia. The updates come in the form of mechanical changes which include a set of new engines, design changes and a new equipment list.
The Captur was introduced in India in 2017. The crossover needs an update since many of its rivals have launched new models and updates to their existing line-up. We expect the facelift to launch in India by 2021.

As seen in the pictures the Russian-spec facelift gets a new front grille with chrome elements. There is no change to the headlamps and the bumper. Moving on to the side, the SUV gets a new set of alloy wheels. The new alloys look quite sporty with the dark inserts. At the rear there are not many changes. It looks quite like the current model.

Inside the cabin there are a few noticeable changes. Firstly, the steering wheel design is new with brushed aluminum material. It gets an 8-inch touch screen infotainment system, which is 1 inch bigger than the one sold on the current model.

The ergonomics on the Renault Captur were never spot on. However, the company now claims that the facelifted model has improved ergonomics along with the use of better-quality materials. It gets a new blind spot monitoring feature. The design of the key has also changed and looks more premium. The new model also gets a 360-degree camera just like the one seen on the Nissan Kicks.
The Renault Captur facelift has been introduced with a new 1.3 litre turbo petrol motor in Russia. It develops 156 HP of power and is coupled to a CVT automatic gearbox. This is the same engine which is introduced in the 2020 Nissan Kicks.

In Russia the French auto major offers the Crossover with an all-wheel-drive system. One major update is the new electro-mechanic steering unit. It replaces the old electro-hydraulic steering wheel. Similar changes are expected in the Indian facelift too which is expected to reach Indian shores by 2021. The Indian-spec facelift will get the new bs6 compliant 1.3 litre turbo petrol and the 1.5 litre petrol.
