The Porsche Panamera facelift has been launched in India, priced from Rs. 1.45 crore. The sports car is available in four different models namely- Panamera, Panamera GTS, Panamera Turbo S, and Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. The facelifted Panamera is equipped with a front end that has striking air intake grilles, large side cooling openings along with a single-bar front light module. The large side intakes as well as exterior coloring in a fresh design, are the distinguishing marks of the Porsche. In fact, this latest development causes the car to look larger across its width.
In a renovated contour, the redesigned rear light strip runs over the luggage compartment. Therefore there’s a smooth flowing cadence between two LED tail light clusters. Panamera GTS models flaunt dynamic home function-enabled dark-tinted tail light clusters. A total of 10 different wheel designs are now on offer after it added three 20 and 21-inch wheels.
|Model||Price (ex-showroom India)|
|Panamera GTS||Rs.1.85 crore|
|Panamera Turbo S||Rs.2.12 crore|
|Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid||Rs.2.43 crore|
Larger cooling openings and a single-bar front light module at the front along with striking air intake grilles have been kept common in all the new models.
A 4-litre V8 petrol engine powers the Turbo S generating a massive 621 bhp and 820 Nm of torque. The Sport Plus mode rockets you up to 100 km/h in only 3.1 seconds. The top speed is pegged at 315 km/h. Customized to each model and thoroughly optimized, the three-chamber air suspension- the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), the Porsche dynamic chassis control sport (PDCC SPORT) –that includes Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) and the 3-chamber air suspension, ensure a smooth transfer of power onto the road.
A brand new drive system with 552 bhp equips the Panamera 4s E Hybrid. That’s another notable feature in a range of plug-in hybrids. In contrast to preceding hybrid models, that`s a 30% boost to the all-electric range. A 134 bhp electric motor integrated with an 8-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission is the mark of the e-hybrid. Its V6 bi-turbo engine, all of 2.9 litre capacity churns out 434 bhp, producing an awe-inspiring system output of 412 kW and 750 Nm of torque.
It was with a particular focus on power delivery that the Panamera GTS V8 bi-turbo engine was optimized. Delivering 19 bhp more on power output relative to the previous model, the Panamera GTS produces 473 bhp and 620 Nm of torque. Power delivery is quite similar to a naturally aspirated engine. Enhanced by asymmetric rear silencers, the new sports exhaust system puts the accent on what is always good-old v8 sound characteristics.
The 2.9 V6 bi-turbo engine generating 326 bhp and 450 Nm equips both the new Panamera as well as the Panamera 4. Control systems and also the chassis have been tuned to provide a sporty and comfortable ride on all the new Panamera models. Some systems are even picked up completely from scratch. For instance, the control of the Porsche dynamic chassis control sport (PDCC SPORT) gives superior stability to the body. On the other hand, the updated Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) provides better damping comfort.
