Nissan India confirmed surpassing the 40,000 units mark in the initial months of February for the Magnite SUV. It said how overwhelming the response was in the Indian market for their Magnite.

As per reports, the company has not only increased the Magnite SUV`s production because of its rising demands but also began a third shift for increasing production at its manufacturing facility that employs over 1,000 of its workforce.

The Managing Director director of Nissan India, Mr. Rakesh Srivastava spoke to the media publication about the appreciation he received and confirmed their willingness to wait for the arrival for two to three more months of the compact-SUV.

The Nissan Magnite became the most affordable compact SUV in India when it was launched last year i.e. 2nd December 2020 at a starting price of Rs. 4.99 lakh. However, an increase of Rs.50,000 was announced by the company on the base-spec XE variant. This has increased Nissan Magnite`s starting price to Rs. 5.49 lakh which is only Rs 4,000 costlier than its Renault counterpart.

Interested buyers will be offered the new Nissan Magnite in 4 variants: XE, XL, XV and XV Premium. Nissan’s top-spec XV Premium variant comes at Rs. 9.35 lakh with 5 monotone and 3 dual-tone colour options.

The Magnite compact-SUV comes with the option of two petrol engines. The top-spec comes with a 1.0 litre turbo-petrol engine producing a maximum of 99 bhp and 160 Nm of peak torque whereas the naturally aspirated unit generates 96 Nm of peak torque and a maximum power of 71 bhp mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The Nissan Magnite is expected to become the best seller in the Indian market segment if things continue to stay like this. Although their primary rival will be Renault Kiger having similar features and set-up, there are a lot more competitions as well. Some of these are the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Kia Sonet, Toyota Urban Cruiser
