Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) reported that the new Fortuner and Legender have earned over 5,000 bookings since their launch in India. TKM has begun deliveries of the new Fortuner and Legender to dealer partners around the country following the huge customer response.
With over 53 percent segment share, the Fortuner continues to dominate the SUV segment, which is likely to increase further with the launch of the Legender, which has attracted immense customer response with its bold styling and advanced features. The overwhelming customer response is also a testament to India’s rapidly increasing preference for SUVs, helping Fortuner to reinforce its leadership position in the highly competitive market.

Since its launch in 2009, the Fortuner has acquired a cult status in the SUV market, well known for its strong performance, bold design and strong identity. The Fortuner’s unbeatable efficiency and great riding comfort have made it the undisputed option among SUV owners in the country, sought-after for both off-road and city driving. Till date, the SUV has seen sales of more than 1,70,000 units and continues to dominate the sector with its unchallenged leadership.
The Fortuner facelift is available with both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol unit is a 2.7 litre motor developing 166PS of maximum power and 245Nm of peak torque and can be had with either a 5-speed MT or 6-speed AT. Also, the 2021 Toyota Fortuner facelift and Toyota Fortuner Legender get a more powerful 2.8-litre diesel engine. This engine produces 204PS of maximum power and 420Nm of peak torque with a 6-speed MT and 204PS of maximum power and 500Nm of peak torque with a 6-speed AT. While the Fortuner facelift gets both 2WD and 4WD options, the Fortuner Legender is available only in 2WD.
