New car launches in Jan 2019

The new year is finally here and 2019 has started with a big bang! Car manufacturers have big plans for 2019 and have a slew of launches lined up in January. Five new models will be introduced in the Indian market, namely – Tata Harrier, Nissan Kicks, Mercedes-Benz V-Class and the 2019 Maruti Wagon R. Tata Harrier

The Harrier is the most anticipated launch in Jan 2019. It is Tata`s flagship SUV and was showcased as the H5X concept at the 2018 Auto Expo. Under the hood the Harrier is powered by a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder diesel motor that develops 140 bhp and 350 Nm of twisting force. Key features include leather upholstery, eight-way adjustable driver`s seat, dual zone climate control, and much more.

Nissan Kicks

Nissan Kicks

The Kicks SUV from the Nissan stable has been revealed to the media ahead of its launch this month. The India spec model is based on the Nissan Terrano platform and is roomier and bigger than the model sold in international markets. Key features include LED projector headlights, soft touch dashboard, premium leather seats, automatic climate control, shark fin antenna and much more. The Kicks will be available with petrol and diesel engine options. On the safety front it gets ABS with EBD and airbags.

Mercedes-Benz V-Class

The Mercedes-Benz V-Class will be launched in India on January 24th. The V-Class will be offered in 7 and 8-seater configurations. There is no word from Mercedes on the engine options, but we presume that it will be powered by a 2.0-liter diesel motor that produces 191 bhp of power and 400 Nm of twisting force. It will be a BS-VI compliant engine and will be paired to a 7-speed automatic transmission.

Toyota Camry

Toyota will be launching the all-new Camry in India on Jan 18th. The new Camry will be available only in Hybrid form. It is based on the TNGA architecture which also underpins the Lexus ES. The India specific variant will be powered by a 2.5-liter motor that pumps out 174 bhp of power along with an 88kW electric motor that bumps up the power figure to 206 bhp.

Maruti Suzuki Wagon R

Maruti`s popular tall boy car, Wagon R is all set to be launched in an all-new avatar. The Wagon R was first introduced in the Indian car market in 1999 and to celebrate its 20th anniversary Maruti Suzuki will be launching the all new hatchback. The new model will offer more space than its predecessor and will continue to be powered by the same 1.0-liter petrol engine.
