Mercedes-Benz India will officially be launching the V-Class in the Indian market. The launch will take place on 24th January 2019. The luxury (multiple purpose vehicle) will be brought to India via the CBU route and will kick-start the German carmaker`s onslaught in the Indian market in 2019.
The V-Class was initially launched in 1996 in the international markets. The MPV has been around for three generations and will be introduced in India for the first time. The third generation V-Class was launched in 2014 and will be offered with seven and eight-seater configurations. It offers a spacious and luxurious cabin which is its strong selling point. It will be initially sold to personal buyers. Mercedes will sell the MPV later to fleet operators after speed controls are installed.
The V-Class for the Indian market will be available with a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder diesel motor paired to a seven-speed automatic gearbox. The engine meets BS-VI compliance norms and the same engine powers the E-Class All-Terrain. The engine pumps out 190 bhp and 400 Nm of torque.
The V-Class has no competition in the Indian market and will be priced between INR 75 -85 lakhs (ex-showroom).
