Maruti Begins Exports Of Grand Vitara, First Shipment To Latin America

Maruti Suzuki India has announced that it has begun exporting its Grand Vitara SUV, with the initial shipment en route to Latin America from the Kamarajar port. This marks a significant milestone for the Indian automaker, as it expands its reach and establishes itself in the international market. The Grand Vitara, a high-performing and aesthetically pleasing SUV, is sure to be a popular choice for Latin American customers. It is expected that this export of the Grand Vitara SUV will strengthen Maruti Suzuki India’s presence in the global automotive industry.

The carmaker has announced an ambitious plan to expand the reach of its popular Grand Vitara SUV to over 60 countries across Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, the ASEAN region, and neighboring areas.

Maruti Suzuki is taking multiple initiatives to boost its international presence and support the Indian government’s efforts to increase exports from India. In July 2022, the car manufacturer unveiled the Grand Vitara, which has been met with positive feedback in the domestic market. Executives at Maruti Suzuki are confident that the Grand Vitara, which is manufactured in India, will experience the same success in other countries.

“Expanding the product portfolio for exports has been one of the key pillars of success. By adding Grand Vitara, we now export a range of 17 vehicles,” Maruti Suzuki India Managing Director and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi said in a statement.

Maruti Suzuki has set a new record in vehicle exports, shipping over 2.6 lakh units in 2022. The company, India’s leading manufacturer of passenger vehicles, looks to increase its position with the addition of the Grand Vitara.
