Mahindra is preparing to unveil its upcoming flagship model, the XUV700, a day before the country’s Independence Day celebrations this weekend. Mahindra has confirmed the date, stating that the XUV700 will be revealed on Saturday evening.

The XUV700 is one of the year’s most anticipated launches, with Mahindra aiming to compete with the Hyundai Alcazar and Tata Safari with its new SUV. For the past few weeks, the automaker has been aggressively teasing the XUV700, confirming several details about it.

The latest teaser shared by Mahindra showcases the XUV700 with the company’s new logo which was designed by Pratap Bose, the brand’s new Chief Design Officer. The new logo emphasises Mahindra’s vehicles to take on new challenges.

The creases and cuts on the exterior of the XUV700 have been toned down when compared to the XUV500. The new SUV from Mahindra will feature a dual-tone interior and will come equipped with a plethora of segment-first features. It also gets a new UI called Andrenox and a Sony 3D sound system. Other features include body-hugging seats with adjustable headrests, push-button start, new multi-functional steering wheel with mounted controls, rotary dials, horizontally positioned air conditioning vents, a massive central armrest, and a cooled glovebox.

A 2.0-liter mStallion petrol engine will power the Mahindra XUV700. This engine is generates a maximum power of 200 PS. A 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine with a maximum power output of 185 PS is also likely to be available as an option.

Both engines are expected to be available with either a 6-speed torque converter automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission.

We expect Mahindra to price the XUV700 from Rs. 14 lakh (ex-showroom) and it will rival the likes of the Tata Safari and Hyundai Alcazar.
