Mahindra XUV300 Launched, Priced from Rs. 7.90 Lakh

Mahindra has launched the much awaited XUV300 compact SUV in India at prices starting from Rs. 7.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The range topping variant has been priced at Rs. 11.99 lakh. With a length of under 4 metres, the XUV300 competes head on against rivals like the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and Tata Nexon.

Mahindra XUV300 front

Mahindra has carried forward the Cheetah-inspired design language that it once used on the XUV500 to the smaller XUV300 as well. As a result, the front fascia gets an upright bumper and grille, with sharp rectangular projector headlamps located on the extreme corners. Design elements inspired by the XUV500 include the LED DRLs that extend down from the headlamps to join the fog lamp housing and a blacked out C-pillar. To add ruggedness to the XUV300’s looks, Mahindra designers have added faux silver skid plates on the front and rear bumpers. The compact SUV is even available in dual tone colour schemes. Higher variants come with 17-inch machine cut alloy wheels. The rear end looks slightly under-styled, but still manages to give the compact SUV a stand-out look.

XUV300 interiors

The interiors adorn a dual tone black and beige scheme. Though the quality of materials used is strictly average, like all Mahindras, the XUV300 comes with spot on ergonomics and loads of practicality. However, unlike most other cars from the Indian automaker, the XUV300 comes loaded to the brim with features. The range topping variants come with an electronic sunroof, front and rear parking sensors, and tyre pressure monitoring system, along with 7 airbags, all four disc brakes, ABS and EBD. Other features on offer with the XUV300 include dual zone climate control with memory function, hill hold control, and cruise control. Infotainment duties are handled by a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Powering the Mahindra XUV300 are two engine options. The petrol is a 1.2-litre, turbocharged unit that churns out 109 bhp and 200 Nm of peak torque, while the diesel is a 1.5-litre, turbocharged unit that pumps out 115 bhp and 300 Nm. At the moment, the XUV300 is available only with a 6-speed manual gearbox, though Mahindra has announced that an AMT automatic gearbox will be added sometime soon.
