Mahindra is gearing up for the launch of its compact SUV, the XUV300. It has been spotted testing on several occasions. The company recently held an event for the media, where images of the upcoming Mahindra SUV were revealed. It is based on the SsanYong Tivoli platform and features a monocoque construction. The XUV300 will come with many segment-first features which will make it an attractive vehicle to own.
The car has been spied for the first time in its base variant avatar. The Mahindra XUV300 base variant will miss out on some equipment like touch screen infotainment system, colour MID display, front fog lights, projector headlamps, leather seats and rear parking camera. Even though some features are missing, the base variant is well equipped.
Mahindra has ensured that the base variant is well equipped. It will get LED tail lights, two-din audio system, all 4 power windows, climate control and multi-information display. It gets dual tone interiors which is a welcome sign.
A quick look at the pictures reveals that Mahindra has done a good job, the quality, fit and finish of the vehicle need an applause. Mahindra has raised the quality standards with the XUV300. The compact SUV looks premium on the exterior as well as on the interior.
On the safety front, the base variant will get 3 airbags, ABS, speed sensing door lock, speed limit warning, impact sensing auto door unlock and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
The top of the line XUV300 is expected to get a few segment-first features like sunroof and seven airbags. It will be powered by a 1.5 litre oil burner and a brand new 1.2 litre turbocharged petrol engine. Both the engines will produce class leading power and torque figures. The car will be launched on February 15th, with prices expected to start from 8 lacs, ex-showroom. It will compete with the likes of the Ford Ecosport, Tata Nexon and the Vitara Brezza.
