Mahindra Alturas SUV colors and variants revealed on website

Home grown automaker Mahindra will launch the new Alturas luxury SUV in India on November 24th, 2018. Initially codenamed the Y400, it will be positioned above the XUV500 in the company`s line-up. The Alturas is a replacement to the outdated SsangYong Rexton which did not find success in the domestic market.

Mahindra will be offering the Alturas in two trims – G2 and G4. The G2 variant gets 2WD where as the G4 is a 4WD variant. The flagship SUV from the house of Mahindra will come equipped with all the bells and whistles. Bookings for the SUV have been opened and customers can book the Alturas online at the following website – for an amount of Rs. 50,000.

Pitted against segment leaders like the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour the Alturas is available in five colors options namely – Napoli Black, Drizzle Silver, Lake Side Brown, Regal Blue and New Pearl White. The SUV boasts massive road presence and borrows its styling from the SsangYong Rexton G4. Mahindra has altered the front grille to cater to Indian tastes, with LED DRLs and HID headlights.

Inside the cabin the SUV sports leather upholstery on seats and door pads, faux wood inserts in the center of the console, dual tone dashboard, 9.2-inch touch screen infotainment system which supports Android Auto and Apple Car Play along with a 360 degree camera.

Safety has been given top priority and some of the prominent features include 9 airbags, ABS and EBD, electric parking brake, traction control and hill hold assist. The Mahindra Alturas is powered by a 2.2-liter e-XDi220 LET turbocharged oil burner that develops 187 PS of power and 450 Nm of twisting force. Transmission duties are performed by a 7-speed automatic gearbox sourced from Mercedes.

Apart from this, other key features include start-stop button, keyless entry, sunroof, 18-inch alloy wheels and much more. Expected to be priced in the 20-25 lakh bracket, the Alturas will compete with the Honda CR-V, Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour.
