After the launch of the Marazzo, Mahindra is gearing up to introduce the Alturas G4 SUV in the Indian market. Scheduled to launch on November 24, 2018, bookings for Mahindra Alturas have commenced. The Alturas is built on a ladder on frame chassis and it is the Indianized version of the Mahindra Rexton. In the company`s line-up the SUV will be positioned above the XUV 500.
The Mahindra Alturas will be offered in two variants – top of the line G4 variant with all the bells and whistles which includes four-wheel drive, and a low spec G2 variant with two-wheel drive. Powering the SUV is a 2.2-liter diesel motor that produces 180.5 HP and 450 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 7-speed automatic gearbox sourced from German carmaker Mercedes.
Feature wise the Alturas G4 will come loaded with creature comforts like Napa leather upholstery, ventilated seats with memory function, electronic parking brake, sunroof and a large touch screen infotainment system and much more.
As per reports pricing of the Alturas has not been revealed, but the SUV will rival the likes of the Isuzu MU-X, Ford Endeavour and the Toyota Fortuner which will place it in the 30 lakhs plus price bracket.
