Come October 26th, 2018 and Tata Motors will be launching the Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP in the Indian market. With more and more manufacturers launching performance variants of their top selling models, Tata has decided to join the bandwagon.
Both the cars will be powered by the same 1.2 litre petrol motor that powers the Nexon. The engine has been tweaked to provide more power and better performance.
The engine has been modified to produce more power and torque figures. In the Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP the engine churns out 110 HP and 170 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Tata has reworked the suspension and lowered the ground clearance of the car to handle the extra power. The cars will also feature cosmetic changes to the exterior in the form of new 15-inch alloy wheels, sportier bumpers and bonnet including a reworked housing for the fog lamps.
The interiors will also be spruced up to justify the sporty tag. A leather wrapped steering wheel, leather seats, red accents on the dashboard, aluminum pedals, and a 5.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system will be some of the additional bits on offer.
Once launched, both the cars will be priced at a premium over their regular siblings. Expect to cough-up an additional Rs. 1 lakh if you want these models in your garage.
