Kia entered the Indian market in the year 2019 with the Kia Seltos mid-size SUV and it became instantly very popular in the country. Kia’s first car in India gave great momentum to the company. The Seltos was originally launched in India in August 2019. It received its first update in January 2020 and a second minor update earlier this year. In this article, we have shared with you the new Kia Seltos Review along with its latest price, specifications, features and all other details.

Design and Colour Variants

The all-new Kia Seltos is a stunning looking mid-size SUV and it has a great road presence. At the front, it sports Kia’s signature tiger-nose grille along with an all-LED headlamp set-up. This mid-size SUV features all-LED headlamps with unique LED DRLs that extend all the way to its logo. The Seltos gets sharp machined-cut multi-spoke alloy wheels and at the rear, it gets LED taillamps. It even features body-cladding all-around along with skid plates at the from and rear that gives it a rugged look.

The Kia Seltos is currently available in a total of 12 different colour shades, out of which six are mono-tone shades and six are dual-tone colour schemes. They are – Intense Red, Punchy Orange, Glacier White Pearl, Steel Silver, Aurora Black Pearl, Intelligence Blue, Punchy Orange With Clear White, Glacier White Pearl With Punchy Orange, Steel Silver With Punchy Orange, Glacier White Pearl With Aurora Black Pearl, Gravity Gray and Intense Red With Aurora Black Pearl. 

Engine Performance

Kia offers a wide range of powertrain options with the Seltos. There are two petrol engines and a diesel motor on offer and all of them get several transmission options too. It gets a BS6 compliant 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that dishes out 115 PS of power and 144 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, a 6-speed iMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission) an IVT (CVT).

This new mid-size SUV also gets a 1.5-litre diesel engine that pumps out the same 115 PS of power but with 250 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed torque-converter AT. Finally, it also packs a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine that pumps out 140 PS of power and 242 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox and also a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission).

Features On Offer and Safety Equipment


The all-new Kia Seltos has always been a very feature-rich SUV and the recent update for the year 2021 made this mid-size even SUV more feature-loaded. The Seltos gets a massive 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system that comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. It even packs Kia’s new UVO connectivity and offers more than 50 connected car features. The SUV also gets an electric sunroof, premium BOSE speaker sound system, ventilated seats, heads-up display, a smart air purifier, and many more features.

Now, if we talk about the safety equipment on offer, so the new Kia Seltos gets up to six airbags, disc brakes on all the four wheels, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), HSA (Hill-Start Assist Control), VSM (Vehicle Stability Management) and Brake Assist, etc. This mid-size SUV even gets cruise control, front and rear parking sensors along with a 360-degree parking camera.

Price, Competition and Should You Buy It?

The all-new Kia Seltos mid-size SUV is currently priced in India between Rs 9.95 lakhs – Rs 17.44 lakhs for the petrol variants and its diesel variants are priced between Rs 10.45 lakhs – Rs 17.65 lakhs. All the prices mentioned here are applicable to Ex-showroom Delhi. The Kia Seltos stacks up against the Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, Nissan Kicks, Tata Harrier, Skoda Kushaq and the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun. At this price point, it rivals some seven-seater SUVs too.
