The Anniversary Edition of the Kawasaki Z650RS does not feature any mechanical changes.
India Kawasaki Motors has launched the Z650RS 50th Anniversary Edition in India priced at Rs. 6.79 lakhs, ex-showroom. The Anniversary Edition costs Rs. 7,000 more than the regular model and only 20 units of the model will be available for purchase in India.
The Anniversary Edition is offered in Candy Diamond brown colour which is similar to the “Fireball” colour scheme of the original Z1 which made its debut in 1972. The Z650RS retains the retro styling elements of the regular model.
To differentiate it from the regular model Kawasaki has given the limited edition motorcycle a gloss black frame, Z 50th logo on the tank, gold-coloured spoke-style cast wheels and a leather textured seat with contrast colour stitching.
Powering the Z650RS is a 649cc parallel twin engine producing 68 PS of max power and 64 Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gear-box. The bike features an all-LED lighting setup and comes with a twin pod instrument cluster with an LCD screen.
The retro styled Z650RS comes equipped with 120/70 section tyres at the front and 160/60 section tyres at the rear. It tips the scales at 192 kg and has a seat height of 800 mm. Apart from this, the bike gets a 12-litre fuel tank which is small for long distance touring and will require frequent fill-ups.
It has a ground clearance of 125 mm and the rear suspension is adjustable for pre-load. The Japanese bike manufacturer has announced that deliveries for the limited edition will commence in India from March 2022.
