Tata Punch Engine Specifications

The new Tata Punch mini SUV is based on Tata Motors’ new ALFA platform which also underpins the Altroz. The new Tata Punch Mini SUV draws power from a BS6 compliant 1.2-litre NA petrol engine that also powers the Tiago, Altroz and the Tigor. This updated new BS6 motor churns out 86 PS of maximum power and 113 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT. There isn’t any turbo petrol engine or a diesel engine on offer at the time of the launch.

The new Tata Punch mini SUV measures 3827 mm in length, 1742 mm in width and 1615 mm in height. The new Tata Punch has a wheelbase of 2445 mm and it offers a decent ground clearance of 187 mm. Also, at 2445 mm, the Punch has a decent wheelbase in its class. The Tata Punch gets 366 litres of boot space and a 37-litre fuel tank capacity, which is again quite good for its class.

The new Tata Punch is offered in four different unique Personas or variants to offer each customer a very unique choice of features and design, to suit his or her needs. They are Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative. The price of the new Tata Punch mini SUV starts at Rs 5.49 lakhs and it goes all the way up to Rs 9.09 lakhs, Ex-showroom New Delhi. The new Tata Punch primarily rivals the Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Mahindra KUV100 NXT, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, etc.

Is Tata Punch worth buying?

Tata Punch can turn out to be a very good first car for someone. It looks handsome from the outside and is spacious and feature-loaded on the inside. The powertrain of the Punch isn’t the best in its segment but it does its job very well. Moreover, since it gets an AMT too, it is a city-friendly car and can be driven easily by both males as well as females. The Tata Punch is available at a decent price point. Its entry-level and mid-spec variants are priced good but the top-spec model is a bit expensive. However, it’s a great buying option as for the price of a hatchback, you are getting an SUV. So, in a nutshell, Tata Punch is worth buying if you are looking out for a handsome, practical, funky and feature-rich car. One that does all but isn’t very expensive and is truly very safe.
