Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India announced the launch of the CB500X, a new premium adventure tourer priced at 6,87,386 rupees (ex-showroom, Gurugram). Bookings for the bike have already begun at the company’s premium major bike dealerships across the country.
The bike will be sold in India as a Fully Knocked Down (CKD) machine, with Grand Prix Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic as colour choices.
The CB500X is powered by a 471cc parallel twin-cylinder engine with eight valves and liquid cooling. This engine is capable of producing 47 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 43.2 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed transmission with an assist and a slipper clutch system.
Elaborating on CB500X and expansion of premium motorcycle business, Mr. Atsushi Ogata, Managing Director, President & CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. A tall windscreen, a negative LCD instrument panel, full-LED lighting, a single-piece saddle, and alloy wheels are among the motorcycle’s main features. Electric rider aids including dual-channel ABS, emergency stop signal, and Honda Ignition Protection System are also included.
The Kawasaki Versys 650, Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT, and Benelli TRK 502 are some of the bike’s main competitors.
