The 2021 Fortuner facelift has been launched by Toyota in the Indian market. The new Fortuner is priced from Rs. 29.98 lakh to Rs 37.48 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Toyota has also launched the SUV’s range-topping ‘Legender’ variant, apart from the facelift version. The Toyota Legender is priced at Rs. 37.58 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi).
The new Toyota Fortuner facelift can be booked either online or at any of the brand’s dealerships across India, including the Legender model. Deliveries, however, are expected to start very soon for the new SUV.
The 2021 Toyota Fortuner model now comes with revised LED projector headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, a reworked front bumper with new fog lamp housings, a wider front grille with chrome surrounds, new 18-inch alloy wheels and a sleeker set of LED tail lamps at the rear.
The new Fortuner facelift now feels more premium inside and comes packed with a range of new features and equipment. The new 8.0-inch Apple CarPlay and Android Auto touchscreen infotainment system, connected car technology, 11-speaker JBL audio system, ventilated front seats, minor changes to the instrument cluster, ambient lighting are some of the big improvements inside the cabin.
The top of the line Legender SUV sports a more aggressive and sportier look, compared to the regular variant. This includes a sleek blacked-out front grille with a brand new pair of sleek LED headlamps, new alloy wheels and an exclusive dual-tone paint scheme. The Legender is also packed with a few extra features and equipment.
The new model is offered with both petrol and diesel engines. This includes the existing 2.7-litre petrol and 2.8-litre diesel engine options. The petrol motor generates 166bhp and 245Nm of peak torque mated to either a five-speed manual or an automatic six-speed transmission.
When mated to the manual gearbox, the diesel engine produces 177bhp and 420Nm of torque. However, when paired with the optional six-speed torque-converter automatic transmission unit, it generates a higher 201bhp and 500Nm of peak torque.
The diesel powered Toyota Fortuner facelift will be offered in both two and four-wheel drive options. However, the range-topping Fortuner Legender model will be offered in only the 4×2 configuration.
