The updated SUPERB lineup – the new SportLine and the new Laurin & Klement – have been launched by SKODA AUTO India at an enticing ex-showroom price of INR 31,99 lacs and INR 34,99 lacs, respectively. The ŠKODA SUPERB was introduced in 2004 to describe the luxury limousine class in India. With its sleek architecture, exquisite interiors, class-leading security, and unparalleled value proposition, the refreshed ŠKODA SUPERB pushes the norm even further.
Most of the improvements to the 2021 Superb are to the equipment list, with a new steering wheel being the only significant aesthetic change-the L&K gets a two-speaker unit while the Sportline gets a three-speaker, flat-bottom one.
Starting from the outside, adaptive LED headlamps with integrated daytime running lamps are a significant addition to the equipment list. The Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster is now standard in the cabin, previously only available on the Sportline, and the 8.0-inch Amundsen touchscreen infotainment system now runs an enhanced user interface and supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wireless connectivity. In addition, a wireless charging pad now houses the cubby hole ahead of the gear lever.
The fully-loaded Superb L&K now comes fitted with a 360-degree camera as opposed to a rear view camera and a hands-free parking feature.
With the single 190hp 2.0-liter turbo-petrol model carrying forward unchanged, there is no alteration to the engine line-up on the revised Superb. The engine is paired with a 7-speed automatic dual-clutch gearbox.
The Superb is a direct rival to the Toyota Camry Hybrid that is priced at Rs 39.41 lakh. For 2021, Skoda has lined up a few new launches, including the re-introduction of the Kodiaq flagship SUV as a petrol-powered model. However, its Kushaq mid-size SUV is scheduled to arrive by the middle of the year and the all-new mid-size sedan due in late-2021 are the brand’s most significant launches this year. The all-new Octavia is also expected to arrive this year.
