2021 Mercedes GLA & AMG GLA 35 Launched In India


Mercedes-Benz has introduced the 2021 GLA in India with a starting price of Rs. 42.10 lakhs (ex-showroom and introductory). The 2021 AMG GLA 35 4M is priced at Rs. 57.30 lakhs (ex-showroom and introductory). Both the cars will be available at Mercedes-Benz dealerships across India.

2021 Mercedes GLA

The styling of the 2021 GLA is similar to that of Mercedes’ larger SUV models. The car has a wide radiator grille flanked by LED headlights and a bumper that gives it a pseudo-off-roader look upfront, and split LED tail lamps, a large tailgate, and a deep bumper with twin exhaust outlets at the rear.

Customers can choose from a variety of upholstery colors and interior trim designs with the 2021 Mercedes GLA, with the AMG Line (GLA 220d 4Matic) model featuring microfibre upholstery and aluminum trim.


The 2021 Mercedes GLA comes is equipped with a host of features including a 10.25-inch touchscreen, digital instrument panel, NTG 6 with MBUX, Mercedes me attach, front wireless charger, panoramic sunroof, Alexa and Google voice integration, remote engine start (except GLA 200), and ambient lighting.

On the safety front, the GLS gets 7 airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP, Pre-Safe, Active Brake Assist, Active Bonnet, Active Brakes, and Attention Assist systems.

The GLA 200 is powered by a 1.3-litre petrol engine which produces 163 HP and 250 Nm, while the GLA 200d and 220d 4Matic get a 2.0-litre diesel engine with 190 HP and 400 Nm. The petrol engine is paired with a 7-speed DCT, while the diesel engines are paired with an 8-speed DCT.

The AMG GLA 35 4Matic is the brand’s third AMG model in India, and it’s the 13th CKD model in the company`s Indian product line-up. The AMG GLA 35 has a meaner appearance than the standard edition. The AMG grille, sporty bumper, 19-inch alloy wheels, twin chrome exhausts, twin diffusers, and a spoiler are among the exterior modifications.

If you look inside, you’ll notice that the same sporty theme has been carried over. There’s a flat-bottom steering wheel, sports seats with Artico/Dinamica microfibre upholstery, and a slew of new features.

The AMG GLA 35 is powered by a 2.0-liter petrol engine that produces 306 horsepower at 5800 RPM and 400 Nm of torque between 3000 and 4000 RPM. The engine is mated to an 8-speed DCT transmission. This sporty model will sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds and can reach a top speed of 250 km/h.

In addition to the 3-year comprehensive warranty, both the 2021 GLA and AMG GLA 35 come with an 8-year engine and transmission warranty.

Mercedes has announced that on July 1, 2021, the prices of the GLA series, which was supposed to be launched in April, will be increased by Rs. 1.50 lakhs from 1st July 2021 onwards.
