Today, Jeep India launched the 2021 Wrangler, which starts at Rs. 53.90 lakhs (ex-showroom). The off-road SUV is now built in the country and comes in two trim levels: Unlimited and Rubicon.
The SUV comes with automatic LED headlamps, LED DRLs, LED fog lights, and LED tail lamps and is available in five colours: Black, Bright White, Firecracker Red, Granite Crystal, and Sting Grey.
Inside, the SUV has leather seats, a leather-finish dashboard, steering-mounted controls, and features including a 7-inch driver’s monitor, 8.4-inch UConnect infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, engine stop/start, dual-zone air conditioning, and cruise control.
The Wrangler is equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission and is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine that produces 268 horsepower and 400 Nm of peak torque.
Body-colored trapezoidal wheel flares, 18-inch aluminium alloys with granite crystal spokes, and all-season tyres are included in the Unlimited model.
While it is not as capable off-road as the Rubicon, it does come with a SelecTrac full-time 4WD system with active 4WD transfer case and a ‘Smart Lock’ feature to keep the system engaged during off-roading or low traction road conditions.
The 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon price includes a RockTrac full-time 4WD system, an electronically controlled clutch, Dana 44 heavy-duty solid axles with TruLok (front and rear), an electronically disconnectable front sway bar, Offroad+ mode, and thick gauge boron steel underbody skid plates, among other features.
Furthermore, the Rubicon has a 760 mm water wading capability (at 8 km/hr) and 36, 31, and 21-degree approach, exit, and break-over angles, respectively, while ground clearance is 217 mm.
Dual front and side airbags, ESC, HSA, hill descent control, electronic rollover mitigation, TPMS, and a park assist system with a rear back-up camera are all included in the car’s safety features.
Jeep has also unveiled the MOPAR accessory suite, which includes 120 different accessories for the SUV. Customers can order these in four different packages (Explorer Pack, Night Ultra Vision Pack, Sports Pack, and Essential Pack).
The locally assembled 2021 Wrangler will be sold at 26 Jeep dealerships across India and comes with a 3-year/1 lakh km warranty as usual.
In addition, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Jeep brand, the automaker has announced that a limited number of Wrangler ‘Launch Edition’ models will be available in India.
