The 2021 Jeep Compass facelift has been launched in the domestic market. Prices start at 16.99 lakh for the new Compass and go up to 28.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Jeep Compass has been the mainstay for the company in India since its launch in 2017. India is only the world’s second region to receive the 2021 Jeep Compass. The 2021 model, particularly the cabin and features, get a significant mid-life update. The dashboard layout is entirely new and now, along with the new UConnect 5 platform along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, it gets a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen. Additionally the 2021 Compass gets ventilated front seats, wireless charging, a fully digital instrument console and a new 360-degree parking camera. Along with new knobs and buttons for in-car controls, Jeep has also used premium soft-touch materials to woo the customers.
The 2021 Jeep Compass comes with a host of visual changes, including a new green color. The SUV also looks more rugged than the outgoing model and gets a larger seven-slat chrome finished grille, sleek new LED headlights with LED DRLs, revised bumper, tweaked faux skid plate, larger air dam, new fog lamps, new 5-spoke alloy wheels, new taillights, and much more. The new model will be available in seven color options. Techno Metallic Green, Galaxy Blue and Brilliant White are the three new colours on offer.
On the safety front the new Jeep Compass receives seven airbags in terms of protection, an electronic brake force distribution (EBD) anti-lock braking system (ABS) and a bunch of electronics, including electronic stability program (ESP), brake assist (BA), terrain modes, hill assist (HA) and hill descent control (HDC), among others. The Jeep Compass facelift gets the same set of engines under the hood as before – the 1.4-litre multi-air petrol engine and the 2.0-litre diesel multi-jet motor. A 6-speed manual gearbox, an optional 9-speed torque converter and a 7-speed DCT automatic will be included in the transmission options. Jeep provides 4×4 technology for selected models.
The 2021 Compass comes in four trims namely – Sport, Longitude, Limited and the latest top-trim, the S. The Compass will also receive a special 80th anniversary version on the occasion of Jeep’s 80th anniversary, which is priced at Rs. 22.96 lakh and will be offered with a 2.0-litre diesel engine and manual transmission.
The Compass facelift will rival the likes of the MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Skoda Karoq and Hyundai Tucson.
