The BS6-compliant 2021 MU-X has been introduced by Isuzu Motors India, at a starting price of Rs. 33.23 lakhs (ex-showroom, Tamil Nadu).
First and foremost, there’s the engine, which is now a 1.9-litre diesel with a maximum output of 163 PS and 360 Nm of torque. It’s paired with a brand-new 6-speed automatic transmission.
The 7-seat MU-X is available in both 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive models, with the latter featuring a shift-on-the-fly 4WD system for better off-roading capabilities.
The SUV features Bi-LED projector headlights with auto-leveling, LED rear position lamps, fog lamps with chrome garnish, double slat chrome radiator grille, aluminum side steps, and roof rails, as well as the same eagle-inspired exterior design.
It is available in six colour options namely – Nautilus Blue (new), Red Spinal Mica, Silky White Pearl, Galena Grey, Black Mica, and Silver Metallic. The SUV runs on 255/60-R18 tyres.
The same twin-cockpit configuration can be found on the inside. You get Soft-touch panels on the dashboard, leather seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, piano black interior trim, and chrome and silver finish trim inside the cabin.
A 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, a 7-inch touchscreen, an 8-speaker sound system, an instrument cluster with chrome rings, and MID are some of the features on offer.
The SUV is equipped with 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, EBA, ESC, TCS, HDC, and a host of other safety equipment.
In its segmet the Isuzu MU-X rivals the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, and MG Gloster.
