The 2020 Maruti S-Cross petrol BS6 is finally going to be launched in India. Select dealers have started accepting bookings for the Crossover.
The never-ending wait for the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross petrol is soon going to end. The company has officially confirmed the launch of the petrol S-Cross in India shortly. Speaking to C&B Editor Siddharth Vinayak Patankar on a chat show, Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director, Marketing & Sales- Maruti Suzuki India shared this information. According to news reports select dealerships in Mumbai are accepting bookings for the BS6 version of the S-Cross petrol for a token amount of Rs. 11,000 which is totally refundable.
Maruti Suzuki has however not confirmed the details regarding the bookings. Since the launch date is inching closer, the carmaker is expected to share the booking details and the launch date soon. The S-Cross was never seen in a petrol avatar before and this is the first time the petrol version is being launched in the country. Maruti will sell the S-Cross through its Nexa dealerships.
The Petrol S-Cross will be powered by a 1.5 litre mild-hybrid petrol motor which also does duty in the Ciaz sedan. The combined output of the petrol engine along with the mild-hybrid technology is 112 bhp and 134 NM of torque. Transmission duties will be performed by a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque convertor unit.
On the design front the 2020 Maruti S-Cross will look similar to the outgoing BS4 model. The S-Cross will be available with an exhaustive feature list which includes a new 7-inch Smartplay Studio system, auto-folding ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, coloured multi-information display, automatic climate control, smart key with push button start, cruise control and much more.
