2019 Suzuki Gixxer 155 launched at Rs. 1 lakh

Suzuki Motorcycles India has launched the new 2019 Gixxer 155 naked motorcycle in the country. Pegged at a price of Rs. 1 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), this new model is priced at a premium of around Rs. 12,000 over its predecessor. Interestingly, this is the same price premium that we saw with the launch of the updated Suzuki Gixxer SF, which is the fully-faired sibling of the Gixxer. 2019 Suzuki Gixxer 155

Changes on the cosmetic front of the 2019 Gixxer include a new LED headlight assembly. This is the same unit that is expected to be seen on the upcoming Gixxer 250. The new tail light too get all LED elements. The naked motorcycle gets revised split seats, a sharper fuel tank, and a new set of alloy wheels. These changes are similar to what we have seen on the 2019 iteration of the fully-faired Gixxer SF. The all digital instrument cluster and chrome-tipped double-barrel exhaust layout is similar to that of the Gixxer SF as well.

Powering the 2019 Suzuki Gixxer is a 154.9 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled petrol engine. It is the same block that powers the SF. Rated at 14.1 PS and 14 Nm of peak torque, this engine comes with fuel-injection, which will result in better refinement, efficiency and throttle response. The bike is also equipped with a single-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system) as standard. 2019 Suzuki Gixxer 155 image 1

At the aforementioned price point, the new Suzuki Gixxer 2019 will compete against the likes of the Yamaha FZ Fi, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Fi ABS, and the Honda CB Hornet 160R. It is worth noting that the Gixxer is more expensive than all these competitors and demands for a premium ranging from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 8,000.
